Man of Lawlessness

Been pondering D&C132:29 in light of the temple endowment: "Abraham received all things, whatsoever he received, by revelation and commandment, by my word, saith the Lord, and hath entered into his exaltation and sitteth upon his throne." https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/132?lang=eng&id=p29#p29 Does D&C132:29 sound a lot like 2 Thess 2:3-5? 1844 was the year the millerites believed the second coming would happen and it also happened to be the year Joseph was mysteriously shot dead by a random mob in the Carthage jail cell with his brother Hyrum also shot at close range through his nasal cavity. Both very gruesome deaths coincidentally occurred the year Christ was supposed to return. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3-5, the Apostle Paul warns believers not to be deceived about the return of Jesus Christ. He explains that "the day of the Lord" will not occur until two major events happen first: a great rebellion against God (the "falling away") and the unveiling of the "man of lawlessness." Paul describes this coming figure (often identified as the Antichrist) as the "son of destruction". His key actions and the core meaning of the passage include: The Rebellion and Lawlessness: Before Christ returns, there will be a severe and widespread departure from the Christian faith. This leads to the revealing of the man of lawlessness, who is the ultimate embodiment of rebellion against God's law. Ultimate Arrogance: This lawless figure will elevate himself above every god or object of worship, going so far as to take his seat in the temple of God and proclaim himself to be God. [1] A Call to Remember: In verse 5, Paul gently reminds the Thessalonians that he taught them these exact details when he was previously with them, encouraging them to hold fast to the truth and not be shaken by false revelators Joseph's King Follette discourse signals the 2 Thessalonians 2 warning https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/1971/04/the-king-follett-sermon?lang=eng "I will go back to the beginning before the world was, to show what kind of a being God is. What sort of a being was God in the beginning? Open your ears and hear, all ye ends of the earth, for I am going to prove it to you by the Bible, and to tell you the designs of God in relation to the human race, and why He interferes with the affairs of man. God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens! That is the great secret. If the veil were rent today, and the great God who holds this world in its orbit, and who upholds all worlds and all things by His power, was to make himself visible—I say, if you were to see him today, you would see him like a man in form—like yourselves in all the person, image, and very form as a man; for Adam was created in the very fashion, image and likeness of God, and received instruction from, and walked, talked and conversed with Him, as one man talks and communes with another." 👆This is published by the church and members usually wait till their worthy to enter the temple to learn about how they too can become Gods, Priests and Priestesses. Recent converts aren't privy to this sacred mystery. The members tell the outside world that "its not doctrine." But behind the veil it surely seems like it is 2 Thessalonians 2:3-5 #Exaltation #FallingAway #KingFollette
